How to make lucky bamboo grow roots quickly with water

How to make lucky bamboo grow roots quickly with water

1. Water quality environment

If you want the lucky bamboo grown in water to take root faster, you should pay attention to the water quality during maintenance. Do not use tap water directly, as it is not conducive to the growth of lucky bamboo. It is recommended to use well water, river water, etc. If you use tap water, you must air it before using it safely, otherwise the chlorine in it is too strong and will hinder rooting.

2. Change water regularly

Before the lucky bamboo takes root, you need to change the water frequently, usually every two or three days, to ensure the water quality is clean. If the water is not changed regularly, there will be few nutrients in the water and the water quality will be poor, which will hinder growth. After the lucky bamboo has taken root, you can reduce the frequency of water changes, and just add water in time when water is low.

3. Suitable environment

In order to encourage lucky bamboo to take root faster, you should also pay attention to the environment provided during water cultivation. It has a certain degree of shade tolerance, but suitable light can promote it to photosynthesize better, thereby promoting rooting and survival as soon as possible. However, only diffuse light can be used, and direct light and strong light must be blocked. In addition, attention should be paid to the temperature environment. It likes a warm environment. It is best to provide a temperature between 20 and 28°C and control the temperature reasonably. A suitable temperature is conducive to rooting.

4. Supplement nutrients

When growing lucky bamboo in water, you need to supplement it with nutrients. The water contains relatively little nutrients, so you can regularly add special nutrient solution for hydroponics into the water. This can increase the nutrients, promote its vigorous growth, and take root faster. Or you can put a few rusty nails in the water, which can supplement iron and help it take root.
