Plant blueberries on the balcony and get 100 fruits at a time!

Every time I go to the supermarket to buy blueberries, a small box costs more than 10 yuan, which makes Huahua feel really bad! In that case, why not grow a pot of it at home? You can eat as much as you want, and you will never be able to eat all the fruits!

Maintenance points:

1. Variety selection

The varieties of blueberries grown vary depending on the region. The south is mainly suitable for growing rabbiteye blueberries and southern highbush varieties, which can withstand temperatures as low as -15°C; the north is mainly suitable for growing dwarfbush blueberries, semi-highbush blueberry varieties and northern highbush blueberries, which can withstand temperatures as low as -30°C.

2. Acidic soil

If you want to grow blueberries, you usually buy blueberry seedlings in the market and plant them. Usually you buy 2-3 year old seedlings. Blueberries like acidic soil, especially for flower lovers in the north. If the soil is alkaline, blueberries cannot bear fruit, so you can mix some sulfur powder into the soil or pour some vinegar.

3. Cold storage capacity at 7℃

If you want blueberries to bloom and bear fruit, you must ensure that the temperature is around 7℃ and frozen. Flower lovers in the south can basically place blueberries on the balcony for maintenance in winter, while flower lovers in the north need to move them indoors. Flower lovers in Guangdong and Hainan often do not bear fruit when growing blueberries because there is no low temperature.

4. Do not apply calcium fertilizer

Blueberries do not like fertilizer. When you just buy them and put them in pots, it is enough to add some rotted chicken manure to the soil. After that, try to apply less fertilizer, especially calcium fertilizers such as egg shells and bone meal. Don't use them!

5. More results

There are so many blueberries that every time I try to put them in a bowl, it’s almost full!

Planting wolfberries on the balcony is good for your health!

More and more friends around Huahua have started drinking wolfberries for health preservation. After all, the quality of wolfberries nowadays is really uneven and cannot be guaranteed. What should they do? Why not grow one at home?

Maintenance points:

1. Soaking and taking seeds

If most flower lovers already have wolfberries at home, they might as well use wolfberry seeds directly to plant them! Soak the wolfberries in warm water for 8 hours. After the pulp has been soaked, rub out the seeds and dry them.

2. Planting

Prepare loose and breathable nutrient soil, use chopsticks to make a few small grooves on the soil surface, plant the wolfberry seeds in it, cover with a thin layer of fine sand, and then spray water. It will germinate in about 10 days.

3. Keep topping

If you want wolfberry to grow fast, you must place it in a well-ventilated place and get more sunlight. No fertilizer is needed, and don't water it too much. If you want to dwarf the wolfberry, you can also keep topping it.

4. Soak in water and drink

After the wolfberries at home bloom and bear fruit, we can pick them and soak them in water to drink directly, or we can put a few when cooking porridge, the taste is good!

Growing strawberries on the balcony never costs money again!

Every time strawberries are on the market, Huahua feels that they are too expensive, so why not take advantage of the cool autumn weather and plant a pot at home!

Maintenance points:

1. Use paper towel to germinate

When growing strawberries at home, they are usually sown from seeds. Wet the paper towel, then sprinkle the strawberry seeds on the wet paper towel to germinate. Basically, it will take 4-5 days for them to germinate.

2. Prepare the soil

Prepare disposable paper cups and remember to poke a few holes in the bottom of the cups. Fill a paper cup with nutrient soil and water it thoroughly once for later use.

3. Planting seeds

Use tweezers or toothpicks to carefully pinch the germinated seeds onto the soil, then cover them with a little soil, making sure the buds are facing downwards.

4. The seedlings grow up

Make sure the soil is moist. Basically, it only takes about 20 days for you to see the strawberry seedlings grow!

5. Repotting and fertilizing

When the strawberry seedlings grow up, it is best to transplant them into larger pots. When changing the soil, remember to add some base fertilizer to the potting soil. When applying fertilizer, you can apply rice water or cake fertilizer water once every 2-3 weeks.

6. Blossom and bear fruit

Make sure the strawberries get enough light and be careful not to let water accumulate in the pot. The strawberries will soon bloom with small white flowers. After the small flowers fall, green strawberries will emerge! Once the strawberries turn red, you can eat them right away!
