What are the shrubs?

1. Forestry significance

Shrubs refer to plants that are less than 3.5 meters tall, usually growing in clusters and without an obvious main trunk. There are also fewer plants with obvious main trunks, such as peonies and hydrangeas. If the stem is lower than 0.5 meters, it is called a small shrub. If the stem is between woody and herbaceous, with herbaceous upper part and woody lower part, it is called a subshrub or semi-shrub.

2. Common Types

1. Gardenia: Gardenia has clustered branches and leaves, the leaves are oval, and the flowering period is from May to July. The main varieties are narrow-leaf gardenia, large-leaf gardenia and ovate-leaf gardenia.

2. Hypericum: Its leaves are long oval, light green, and turn red in autumn. It blooms in summer and the flowers are golden yellow.

3. Michelia: Michelia is also known as Michelia sempervivum. Its flowers are white with purple edges and have the smell of banana, so it is also called banana flower.

4. Nandina domestica: Its leaves are green in summer and spring, and red in autumn and winter. Its fruits are also red, which is very beautiful.

5. Pittosporum: Pittosporum is a large evergreen shrub. The leaves are obovate with slightly curled edges. They bloom in summer and are resistant to harmful gases.
