The difference between fairy finger and Christmas cactus

The difference between fairy finger and Christmas cactus

1. Difference between stems

The fairy finger has many branches, which hang down. Its trunk is flat and fleshy. Each branch is oblong or leaf-shaped. There are 1 to 2 blunt teeth on each side of the branch, and the top is truncated.

Christmas cactus has no leaves and stems, with many branches that are usually hanging. Its old stems are woody and slightly cylindrical, while the young stems and branches are flat. Each node is rectangular or obovate, about 3 to 6 cm long and 1.5 to 2.5 cm wide, bright green in color, sometimes slightly purple.

2. Flower Differences

The flowers of the fairy finger grow solitarily at the top of the branches, with neat corollas and a variety of colors, including purple, white, red and so on.

The flowers of Christmas cactus grow solitarily at the top of the branches. They are rose red, 6 to 9 cm long, and symmetrical on both sides.
