The difference between copper coin grass and money grass

The difference between copper coin grass and money grass

1. Family

In this respect, the former is a perennial herb belonging to the Apiaceae family and the primitive perianth subclass.

The latter belongs to the Primulaceae family and is also a perennial herb, but it is creeping. It is of the subclass Gympetalum.

2. Growth Environment

The former was introduced from Europe. It likes to grow by the river or in relatively cool and humid areas.

The latter mainly grows in areas south of the subtropics and prefers areas with abundant water. It is widely distributed in my country, especially in the southern region. It can be seen not only in artificial cultivation but also in the wild.

3. Appearance

The shape of the former is very much like a broken umbrella, and it is fan-shaped, with serrations visible on the edges of the leaves. The flowers are both yellow and purple-red.

The latter is more like the copper coins of our country in the past. It is round in shape, with leaves growing opposite each other, about 45mm wide, and the flowers are generally yellow.

4. Growth habits

The former can grow in water or on land. It can survive well in shady, watery or dry environments. It has strong adaptability to the environment and can reproduce very quickly.

The latter prefers warm and watery areas, does not like high temperatures, but can better resist low temperatures. 16-24℃ is the best survival temperature. What is the same is that neither of them can survive high temperatures.

5. Efficacy

The former can be used as medicine all over the body. It can prevent and treat symptoms such as eczema or abdominal pain, and is also very effective.

The latter can be boiled in water and taken internally, or it can be crushed and applied externally. But you should never use it if you have abdominal pain. It can also treat snake bites, malaria, etc.
