How to care for white palm in winter

1. Warming up and keeping warm

If you want the white anthurium to spend the winter safely, you must pay attention to increasing temperature and keeping warm in winter, and ensure that the maintenance temperature is above 10℃. If it is below 10℃, you must control water and keep the soil dry. At night, when the temperature is low, you can find a plastic bag to cover the white anthurium, and open it for ventilation during the day.

2. Get more sun

Anthurium prefers diffuse light, but the light in winter is soft, so it can be exposed to the sun appropriately. This can not only increase the local maintenance temperature of the anthurium, but also allow it to get more sunlight, accumulate nutrients, and is beneficial to the growth and flowering of the plant. The anthurium will definitely not bloom if it lacks light.

3. Control watering

Anthurium likes water but is afraid of waterlogging. However, the temperature is low in winter and the moisture in the soil evaporates slowly, so the watering intervals should be extended, and watering should be done only when the soil is almost dry. If the room is heated, the temperature should be maintained above 18℃, and water should be poured thoroughly when the soil surface turns white and dry, and spray water frequently.

4. Do not apply fertilizer

The temperature is low in winter, so do not apply fertilizer. Let the anthurium survive the winter safely and wait until the spring gets warmer next year. If the indoor heating temperature is high, you can apply nutritionally balanced fertilizer and water once every month. If the plants are growing vigorously, you can apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to promote flowering.

5. Notes

Indoor heating in winter makes the air particularly dry, and the tips of domestic white anthuriums are prone to drying out. You can spray water on the leaves of the plants frequently to increase the humidity, but make sure that the maintenance environment is well ventilated to prevent the occurrence of diseases and pests of white anthuriums.
