Cultivation methods and precautions of Melaleuca alternifolia

Cultivation methods and precautions of Melaleuca alternifolia

1. Lighting

Melaleuca itself prefers sunlight, so we usually have to keep it in sunlight all day long. We cannot let it stay in places with poor light often, otherwise it will easily hinder its growth and make its leaves easily become withered and yellow, so light is very important for it.

2. Moisture

It generally likes water, but you cannot allow water to accumulate in the soil of the pot, that is, water it too much, otherwise its roots will easily rot, which is not conducive to its growth. When watering, we must remember not to water if the soil in the pot is not dry. If it is dry, we must water it thoroughly. This way of watering can effectively avoid the existence of water accumulation.

3. Supply of fertilizer

Melaleuca likes fertilizer very much, so when adding fertilizer, we can prepare some liquid fertilizer ourselves, take some clear liquid and add some water to water it, so that the fertilizer will not be too concentrated, and then apply it more frequently. It can meet its demand for fertilizer very well.

4. The placement should be fixed

Normally when we place it, we must make sure the position is fixed and we cannot move it around. This will cause unpredictable weather and will be very detrimental to its growth.

5. Management of potted plants

Bonsai generally requires very few seedlings, and you can cultivate it yourself by cuttings. During its growth period, we can cut some of its stronger top branches, about 8 to 10 cm in length. After they are slightly dried, we can insert them into the prepared sand bed.

6. Disease and pest control

When cultivating it, some diseases and insects will generally grow, which will cause great damage to its roots. So at this time we must do a good job of preventing diseases and pests. When insects occur, we can use some drugs to completely eliminate them. In addition, we can also put some sweet sugar water or rice soup on the weeds to improve its control effect.
