Causes and treatments for yellowing leaves of anthurium

Causes and treatments for yellowing leaves of anthurium

1. Inappropriate light exposure

1. Reason: Anthurium likes soft light and is suitable for growing in an environment with scattered light. If the light in the environment where it is grown is too strong, it may be sunburned and cause its leaves to turn yellow. If the light in the environment where it is grown is too weak, it may cause it to grow poorly and have yellow leaves.

2. Solution: Place it in a place with soft scattered light. If the light is too strong, you can use a shade net to block it. If the light is too weak, you can use electric lights to supplement the light.

2. Excessive Fertilization

1. Reason: It likes fertilizer and can be fertilized once every 7-10 days during maintenance. However, if fertilizer is applied too frequently, the fertilizer that it cannot absorb and utilize in time will remain in the soil, causing damage to its root system and causing yellow leaves.

2. Solution: Place the flower pot in a large basin of water, use plenty of clean water to clean the soil and flush out the remaining fertilizer. After that, let the flower soil dry and stop fertilizing for a while to wait for it to recover.

3. Unsuitable soil

1. Reason: It prefers flower soil with good air permeability and weak acidity. If the soil in which it is grown is not breathable enough or is too alkaline, it may grow poorly and have yellow leaves.

2. Solution: Remove the plant from the pot and trim off the rotten roots and yellow leaves. Then use leaf mold, river sand and garden soil to make soil suitable for its growth, plant it in the new soil and maintain it.
