How to cultivate green diamonds

How to cultivate green diamonds

1. Soil

Although green diamonds do not have high requirements for soil, sandy soil is best. When growing green diamonds, it is generally recommended to mix peat and perlite evenly to make nutrient soil for potted plants, and at the same time, the moisture of the soil must be guaranteed.

2. Fertilizer

Green Diamond is a fertilizer-loving plant. When cultivating Green Diamond, farmyard manure is generally added as base fertilizer. Fertilizer should be applied at least two or three times a month during the subsequent growth period. Fertilizers rich in calcium, magnesium and nitrogen can be chosen. Remember not to apply only one type of nitrogen fertilizer, as this will cause the petioles of Green Diamond to be particularly long and soft, without an upright feeling, which will greatly reduce the ornamental effect. The temperature is low in autumn and winter, and the green diamond grows slowly, so less fertilizer should be applied at this stage.

3. Water

Green Diamond likes moisture, so it must be watered frequently, especially in summer and autumn when the air is particularly dry. Also pay attention to spraying water around the Green Diamond to ensure the humidity of the surrounding air. The air humidity should generally be maintained between 50-70%. If it is lower than 50%, the leaves of the Green Diamond will turn yellow and dry.

4. Temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for green diamonds is between 20 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius, but it can grow if the temperature can reach 10 degrees Celsius. When growing green diamonds, it is best to avoid heating, air conditioning and cold wind. The temperature should be kept at around 20 degrees Celsius. Under this temperature condition, green diamonds grow the fastest.

5. Lighting

Green Diamond likes sunlight, but it cannot be exposed to the scorching sun, especially in summer. Be careful to block the sunlight a little to prevent the leaves of Green Diamond from being sunburned. It is generally recommended to place the Green Diamond in a semi-shaded or diffused light environment, but it cannot be placed in a dark environment for a long time, otherwise the leaves of the Green Diamond will turn yellow due to insufficient light.

6. Pest control

The main pest of Green Diamond is red spider mites. Generally, dry air will cause pests, so be sure to spray water frequently and wipe the leaves of Green Diamond with a damp cloth frequently, which can effectively prevent the occurrence of pests. When insect infestation has already occurred, pesticides need to be sprayed to control the insects.
