What are the varieties of bromeliads?

Water Tower Flower

The water tower flower is a flame bromeliad. The plant has clustered grass stems, which are relatively short. The leaves are narrow and long, and usually have serrations on the edges. The leaves are bright green in color.

Bromelia bicolor

The bicolor bromeliad is also called the double-striped bromeliad. Its leaves are green with red and yellow longitudinal stripes.

Its growth habits prefer a high temperature and dry environment, and require sufficient light and well-drained sandy loam.

Maintenance points

More watering is needed in summer, but if too much water is given, moss will easily grow on the surface of the soil, causing root rot.

During its growing season, fertilizer should be applied every half a month. Stop fertilizing in the cold winter.

Tiger-striped bromeliad

The tiger-striped bromeliad is native to the tropical rainforests of eastern Brazil. Its leaves are large and rosette-shaped, with clusters of spreading leaves. Its leaves are yellow-green with wide dark green stripes on them. It is an ornamental foliage plant.

Red Leaf Bromelia

The leaves of the red-leafed bromeliad are oblong-lanceolate, with relatively long petioles. The leaf surface is green-brown and covered with light green stripes. The peduncle extends from the leaf axil and the flowers are white.

Growth habit

It prefers a high temperature, high humidity and semi-shady growing environment. It is not drought-tolerant and requires loose, fertile soil rich in humus to grow.

This pineapple is a very ornamental plant and belongs to the foliage type. Its main use is to make ornamental decorations for tables, windowsills, etc.

You can also make bonsai or vase plants and place them in the bedroom to beautify the space and optimize the environment.
