How to grow star wood

temperature

Starwood likes high temperature environment and is suitable for growing between 20℃-30℃. Once the temperature in winter drops below 13℃, insulation work needs to be done.

illumination

Star tree is a shade-tolerant plant. It does not require much light and should avoid long-term direct sunlight, otherwise white dry patches may appear on the leaves. Generally, half-day exposure is sufficient. If there is too little light, the growth of the star tree will become slow and new leaves will not grow easily, so it is best to wait for a period of time and choose weather with milder light to bask in the sun.

Moisture

The star tree is drought-tolerant and does not require much water. Implement the principle of "don't water until the soil is dry, and water thoroughly when you do." Wait until the soil surface is dry before watering to avoid waterlogging in the pot soil.

Soil requirements

It is suitable to choose loose, fertile, well-ventilated and well-drained sandy soil or leaf mold rich in organic matter for cultivation.

Fertilization status

Apply top dressing fertilizers such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium once a month, and organic fertilizers 2-3 times a year.

Things to note when growing star wood

Pruning work

When the branches are sparse, you can pinch and prune them according to the situation to promote their growth.

Pest control

Star tree has fewer diseases and pests, but anthracnose may occur in high temperature seasons. It can be treated with 1000 times of carbendazim or thiophanate-methyl.
