How to grow trumpet creeper and how long is its flowering period

1. Cultivation method of trumpet creeper

1. Soil: Relatively fertile, loose and acidic soil should be used for breeding. It is recommended that you mix humus, coarse sand and garden soil to prepare the required nutrient soil, which can better meet the growth needs. In addition, organic fertilizer should be added as base fertilizer during planting to increase nutrients.

2. Light: Trumpet creeper likes sunlight and can only grow normally in an environment with sufficient light. Therefore, whether it is potted or planted in the ground, it should be exposed to more sunlight, and the light duration should be guaranteed to be more than 6 hours a day. Lack of light will affect growth.

3. Watering: It likes a relatively humid environment, but is afraid of stagnant water. Therefore, watering is required regularly during the growing period, and there must be sufficient moisture in the soil, but not excessive, and there should be no waterlogging. When it blooms, reduce the amount of water and only water once every three or four days.

4. Pruning: If you want it to grow vigorously, pruning is necessary. Especially when entering the dormant period, dead leaves, side branches, and diseased and weak branches should be pruned off to avoid excessive growth in the later stage. Pruning can also save a lot of nutrients and promote the sprouting of new branches in the later stage.

2. How long is the flowering period of trumpet creeper?

Trumpet creeper usually blooms in May every year and can last until around August, which means the overall flowering period is about three months. When blooming, the flowers are trumpet-shaped, the color is bright, the flowers are large in number, and the flowering period is relatively long. In addition, the specific flowering period and flowering time also depend on the variety and the area of cultivation.
