Is daylily poisonous? How to grow it most scientifically

1. Is it poisonous?

Its flowers are bright yellow and very beautiful. Although the flowers are beautiful, they are poisonous and can have a certain impact on the human body if you are not careful. Eating it raw can cause poisoning, and consuming it in excess can be life-threatening in severe cases. Therefore, you must not eat it as daylily to avoid poisoning. But the peculiar thing about it is that if it is stored after steaming or drying, it will have no effect when eaten later.

2. How to plant most scientifically

1. Division: This method is generally used more frequently and is performed after the leaves wither in autumn or before they sprout in early spring. Dig out the old plants, comb out the root system underneath, and cut off the dead roots and excess fibrous roots. After that, you can transplant them separately and carry out the subsequent maintenance. Note that if it is planted in autumn, its leaves can be cut short by about 10 cm to reduce consumption.

2. Sowing: After the seeds are collected, they can be sown immediately, and autumn is more suitable. After processing the seeds, sow them in the substrate, cover them with a layer of fine soil, and do basic maintenance. Seedlings will emerge in about 20 days and they will bloom in about 2 years.
