What kind of azalea is poisonous?

What kind of azalea is poisonous?

Is it poisonous?

In fact, not all species are poisonous. There are about sixty poisonous species of rhododendron, almost all of which are native to my country and are extremely toxic. So, how do you tell the difference?

Azaleas with bright red petals are non-toxic. However, if we come across azaleas with yellow or white petals, we need to be careful, as they are poisonous! Not only are the flowers poisonous, but the leaves are also poisonous and can be dangerous if eaten by mistake!

It should also be noted that not only the flowers and leaves are poisonous, but even the brewed honey is poisonous, so you must not take it lightly.

How to prevent

Try not to grow yellow or white rhododendrons. Even if you have planted it, you should tell your family and friends about its toxicity so that they can have preventive awareness in advance.

If you have children or pets at home, keep poisonous plants up high or in an inaccessible place. If the flowers and leaves of the plant fall off, remember to clean them up in time to prevent children or cats and dogs from accidentally ingesting them.

Do not place poisonous azalea in the bedroom, not only because it is poisonous, but also because it cannot carry out photosynthesis at night, but has a strong respiration activity and will compete with humans for oxygen.
