How to make and maintain cliff chrysanthemum bonsai

Bonsai Making

In November, take the old chrysanthemum buds, plant them in a small clay pot, water them sufficiently, and then place them in a shaded place for about a week. Afterwards, move it into a sunny room for maintenance. The temperature should be low, maintained at around 1-5℃. If the indoor temperature is too high in winter and the light is not sufficient, the branches of the chrysanthemum will grow too thin and long, which is not beautiful. Do not water too much in winter, just keep the soil moist.

When the weather starts to warm up in late March of the following year, move the chrysanthemum seedlings from indoors to outdoors and plant them in deeper, larger clay pots. When the chrysanthemum seedlings grow to about 15 cm, water them thoroughly. Wait until the next day to turn the pot upside down with the mouth of the pot facing north. According to the phototropism and natural upward habit of chrysanthemums, bend the chrysanthemum seedlings into a drooping shape, and then use thin hemp rope or thin iron wire to fix the stem of the chrysanthemum seedling to the wall of the pot.

Bonsai maintenance

Be sure to tighten the rope a little every week to bring the drooping main branches closer to the pot until the chrysanthemum seedling reaches the ideal curvature. When the main branch bends to the bottom of the pot, remove the top to promote the growth of side branches. Then remove other side branches and leave only 3-5 side branches.

Pinching should be done several times until the last pinching at the end of August.

In mid-October, the chrysanthemums are about to bloom. At this time, you should replace the large clay pot with a small thin pot, remove the thin wire or rope tied on it, spread a layer of moss on the surface of the pot, and remove unnecessary branches and flowers according to the needs of the shape. A beautiful and unique cliff bonsai chrysanthemum will be presented to everyone.

This is all I have to say about the production and maintenance methods of cliff bonsai chrysanthemum. I hope that flower lovers who are interested in cliff bonsai chrysanthemum can make a unique cliff bonsai chrysanthemum according to the methods introduced by me.
