June Aquaculture Management Guide

June Aquaculture Management Guide

June is a critical period for aquaculture , as the climate is warm and aquatic organisms grow rapidly, but it is also a time when diseases are more prevalent. Therefore, it is important to attach importance to the management work at this stage. Here is a brief management guide shared with you.

1. Water quality management

Firstly, quicklime or other water cleaners can be used regularly to clean the aquaculture water to kill harmful bacteria and keep the water's transparency, dissolved oxygen, pH value, etc. in an appropriate state. Secondly, microecological preparations such as photosynthetic bacteria, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus, Lactobacillus and EM preparations can be used to regulate water quality and promote the reproduction of beneficial bacteria. Third, change the water regularly to keep the pond water rich, active, tender and refreshing at all times.

2. Feeding

Adjust feed formula and feeding amount according to the growth needs of different fish and weather changes. Generally speaking, the proportion of protein can be appropriately increased to meet the needs of fish growth. At the same time, attention should be paid to the time and frequency of feeding to avoid feed waste and water quality deterioration caused by excessive feeding.

3. Increase oxygen at the right time

The hot, muggy and rainy weather in June can easily cause water hypoxia and pond flooding. We must pay close attention to weather changes and be proactively prepared for heavy rain and typhoons. At the same time, strengthen daily management and turn on the aerator in time if hypoxia is found to avoid pond flooding.

4. Seedling cultivation

In June, seedling cultivation should be strengthened, and summer flower seedlings should be promptly divided into ponds for stocking or sold according to their growth conditions, followed by the fish seed cultivation period. In addition, the pond should be cleaned and disinfected before stocking the seedlings. When stocking, the seedlings must be disinfected by immersion in salt water or potassium permanganate before entering the pond to avoid bacterial infection.

5. Fish disease prevention and control

Do a good job in fish disease prevention and control, including selecting high-quality seedlings, and thoroughly disinfecting water bodies, baits, fish farms, tools , etc. Diagnose the occurrence of fish diseases in a timely manner, determine the cause, and choose high-efficiency and low-toxic drugs for treatment. Common fish diseases in June include rotifer disease, ring disease, bacterial septicemia, gill rot, etc.

6. Reasonable mixed breeding

(1) Crab and shrimp mixed farming: In mid-to-late June, 20,000 to 30,000 shrimp fry cultivated that year are placed in each acre of crab pond.

(2) Fish and turtle mixed farming: In conventional fish farming ponds, young turtles raised in greenhouses are moved out in early June and placed in fish farming ponds, with 30 to 50 turtles per acre.

(3) Mixed culture of crabs and fish: In early June, a portion of the mandarin fish bred that year or other carnivorous fish species are released into the crab pond, with a limit of about 50 per mu.

In general, June is a critical period for aquaculture . By flexibly adjusting management strategies such as feeding and water quality, the smooth progress of aquaculture can be effectively guaranteed, which will also help improve breeding efficiency and product quality.
