1. Normal metabolism

Reason: The smooth sailing plant is also called white calla lily, and its flowers are generally white. If the flowers gradually turn green in the later stage, it may be a normal metabolic phenomenon. In the later stages of flowering, chlorophyll will concentrate in large quantities, causing the flowers to turn green.

Treatment method: If this is the reason, there is no need for excessive intervention. Just cut off the green flowers and inflorescences to reduce nutrient consumption and facilitate the next flowering.

2. Insufficient light

Cause: If it is not due to natural metabolism, there may be a problem in maintenance. The smooth sailing plant needs sufficient diffuse light to grow. If it does not see the sun for a long time and is kept in a shaded environment for a long time, the chlorophyll of the flowers will increase significantly, causing the flowers to turn green.

Treatment method: Move the plant to a well-lit place and ensure 4-6 hours of diffuse light during the growing period. Although it needs to receive enough sunlight, be careful not to expose it to the scorching sun.

3. Insufficient nutrients

Reason: Smooth Sailing needs a lot of nutrients to bloom. If insufficient fertilizer is applied, it will cause problems with flowering, causing the flowers to turn green.

Treatment method: Apply fertilizer regularly according to growth needs. Fertilizer should be applied every half a month during the spring and autumn growing seasons.
