Causes and solutions for curling leaves of the fortune tree

Causes and solutions for curling leaves of the fortune tree

1. Strong light exposure

Reason: When the money tree is exposed to strong light, its leaves are easily burned. At the same time, the high temperature will consume a lot of water, causing it to curl.

Solution: Provide proper shade for the money tree, or place it in a place with diffuse light. Generally, you should avoid the afternoon sun in summer and bask in the sun in the early morning or evening.

2. Low air humidity

Reason: Low air humidity will promote transpiration of leaves, causing water loss in the leaves and curling.

Solution: You can spray water on the leaves of the money tree to keep them moist. You can also sprinkle water on the ground to provide an environment with higher humidity.

3. Insufficient watering

Reason: The money tree has a high demand for water, and insufficient water can easily cause the leaves to curl.

Solution: First of all, the potting soil needs to have a certain water retention capacity to keep the soil moist for a long time. Water frequently during the growing season, especially in hot summer weather, water twice a day.

4. Excessive Fertilization

Cause: Excessive fertilization can cause the roots of the money tree to be burned and reduce water absorption, causing the leaves to curl.

Solution: If there is excess fertilizer in the potting soil, if it is visible to the naked eye, replace the potting soil in time. If it has been absorbed, add more water to dilute it. If concentrated fertilizer causes root damage, remove it and clean the soil, trim off rotten roots, and replant.
