What to do if the green radish dies

What to do if the green radish dies

1. Prune the roots

After discovering that part of the green radish has died, you should first check whether there is any problem with the roots. If there are rotten roots, they should be cut off in time, and the roots that are too long should be shortened. After pruning the roots, soak the lower part of the plant in carbendazim for disinfection, usually for about 30 minutes. If the roots are completely rotten, there is no chance of saving the plant.

2. Beheading

After part of the plant dies, there will be no photosynthesis, but it will also waste water and nutrients at the roots, so they all need to be pruned off at this time. Most of the soil above the potting soil should be cut off, leaving only 1-2 buds that have just emerged from the ground.

3. Repotting

Since the rotten roots and leaves of the green radish may lead to bacterial growth, it is also necessary to change the pot and soil. Choose a flowerpot of appropriate size, put broken tiles or sand at the bottom of the pot to increase drainage, and then cover it with potting soil. After planting, fill with soil above the roots, then compact and water thoroughly.

4. Keep warm and moisturize

Cover the potted plant with transparent plastic wrap after beheading, which will help keep the plant warm. You can also poke a few holes on it to help with ventilation. Then put it in a cool and ventilated place away from direct sunlight.

5. Seedling maintenance

During the seedling growth period, the plants must be properly maintained. Water the plants when the soil turns white, and water them sufficiently at one time. Do not apply fertilizer, as it will harm the new roots. New sprouts will basically grow after a week. Remove the plastic wrap and place it in a place with scattered light to help grow leaves.
