How to take care of newly bought tulips

1. How to deal with newly bought tulips

After buying tulip bulbs, you need to observe the growth of the bulbs to ensure good future growth. Its bulbs must be good, because the bulbs are the basis for its growth and flowering. The bulbs are required to be full and complete, and it is best if there is no damage on the surface. The bulbs should be above 12 cm. If they are too small, they may not bloom later. It is best to disinfect the bulbs before planting them. Just soak them in carbendazim for about 20 minutes.

2. How to deal with specific details

1. Soil: Choose suitable flower pots and soil for planting. Clay pots are more breathable. The soil should be loose and breathable. You can mix peat soil with some river sand, with a ratio of 2:1 being the best. This way the soil is not only breathable but also nutritious. When planting the bulbs, gently compact the soil around them.

2. Environment: When you first buy tulips, you need to let them adapt to the environment at home, disinfect them and plant them. It needs to be placed in a sunny place for a while to allow it to adapt. Water less and do not fertilize. Be sure to wait until it starts to resume growth before carrying out daily regular maintenance.

3. Watering: When adapting to the environment, you don’t need to water too much. Water once every 4 to 6 days on average to keep the soil slightly moist. Wait until the leaves begin to stretch, then water normally, and water as soon as the soil is dry.

4. Fertilization: No fertilization is needed when planting in pots. When some leaves grow, you can start fertilizing. Do not apply a large amount of fertilizer at one time, as this may easily burn its roots. You can use some fertilizer cakes or decomposed fertilizer, and fertilize again after flower buds appear.
