Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of Staghorn Begonia

Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of Staghorn Begonia

1. Unsuitable soil

1. Reason: Staghorn Begonia grows in soil with poor drainage and air permeability. Water cannot be discharged, resulting in serious waterlogging in the pot soil. Most of the roots cannot breathe normally, and the root system is damaged, which easily leads to yellow leaves.

2. Treatment method: It is necessary to change the soil and transplant it to loose, well-drained and breathable sandy soil and maintain it for a period of time, and it will return to normal. Before changing the soil, the new soil needs to be exposed to the sun for disinfection.

2. Insufficient light

1. Reason: Staghorn Begonia needs sufficient light during its growth period. Lack of light will prevent it from carrying out normal photosynthesis, and the leaves of the plant will gradually turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: Move it to a place with good but not strong light and maintain it for a period of time. Proper shade is required in summer.

3. The temperature is too low

1. Reason: Staghorn Begonia is not cold-resistant. If it is kept in a low temperature environment for a long time, the plant will stop growing and the leaves will slowly turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: It needs to be moved to a warm environment for maintenance. The indoor temperature in winter should not be lower than 15℃. It is best to keep the temperature at 20-22℃, which is more conducive to its recovery.
