What to do if the small ball rose grows too long

What to do if the small ball rose grows too long

Causes of Lean Growth

Lack of light

The reason why succulents grow too tall is simple: insufficient light. Rose bulbs prefer full-sun conditions. If they grow in the shade one day, their color will become dull and their internodes will become elongated. They may not be easily noticed, but changes will still occur. During the growth process of the rose hip, you ignored it and only noticed it when its neck stretched out. This is a common point among most succulent lovers.

Improper watering

In fact, light and watering complement each other. When there is insufficient light, excessive watering, and good ventilation, the roots absorb a lot of water and the stem nodes will grow faster, which is what we often call leggy growth. On the contrary, under sufficient sunlight, watering in between too much and too little can also cause the plants to grow too tall.

what to do

Increase sunlight

Most of the small ball roses in the homes of many succulent lovers will grow leggy in the summer, which is not a big problem. If you are busy and don't have time to manage the balls, try to place them in a place with scattered light in the summer. It doesn't matter if they grow a little leggy, it is better than dying. In other seasons, ensure sufficient sunlight and full sun without shading.

Reduce watering

Be sure to control the amount of watering. In spring, autumn and winter, water 1 to 2 times a month. Reduce or increase the frequency appropriately according to the potting soil and weather conditions. Minimal or no water in summer.

Beheading

It doesn't matter if succulents grow too tall, just cut off the tops. Don't be reluctant, cut off the small heads and re-root them, sometimes you can get a new pot of roses. Do not cut the head in winter or summer, as it will affect the survival rate.
