What to do if the leaves of Clivia grow crooked

How to deal with it

1. Clip correction

Choose a small clip with less force (a small bamboo clip used for drying clothes), put soft paper on the jaws, and directly pull the two symmetrical leaves together and clamp them together. It will be corrected after a while!

2. Cardboard correction

Find a piece of tin foil or thin cardboard that is the same length as the leaf and 1/2 the width of the leaf, and use a pin to secure it to the leaf. Fix the blade in the direction it tilts, and observe it at all times to avoid overcorrection.

3. Framework Correction

When looking at the Clivia from the front, the leaves are crooked and uneven in density. At this time, you can make frames out of thick cardboard and let the leaves grow in the frames. After a while, remove the frames. The Clivia will become a line when viewed from the side, and a fan-shaped shape when viewed from the front, which is very beautiful.

Precautions

Pay attention to the direction of the Clivia, point the top of the leaves in the north and south directions, and rotate the flowerpot regularly.

It is best to change the soil in spring and autumn when the temperature is suitable and will not affect the growth of the plants.

Clivia has two growing seasons, one is from March to June, when the temperature is between 10 and 25 degrees Celsius, which is the most suitable temperature for the growth of Clivia. During this period, the pots can be repotted and the soil can be changed appropriately. Another growing season is from August to September, when the weather is cool and the temperature is moderate. Take good care of it during the growing period to prevent the leaves from tilting.
