Disease and Pest Control of Clivia miniata

Disease and Pest Control of Clivia miniata

Diseases

Compared with insect pests, it has more diseases, so we will mainly introduce this aspect.

The first disease is called "root rot", which is a disease we are more familiar with. It is mainly caused by excessive water in the pot or accidental invasion of pathogens through root wounds during transplantation. Symptoms may appear on the leaves, such as yellowing of leaves or failure to grow new leaves. To deal with this disease, we must first pay special attention when transplanting. If there are ulcerated parts at the roots, we need to cut off these parts and apply some medicine on the wound surface to sterilize it. Also, pay attention to the amount of watering and do not let too much water accumulate in the pot soil.

The second disease is called "sunburn". From its name we can also infer that it is caused by excessive light. This disease mainly occurs in summer, and when it occurs, large areas of leaves will turn yellow. The solution to this type of disease is relatively simple, which is to provide appropriate shade to the plants and cut off the yellowing leaves.

The third disease is "anthracnose", which mainly occurs in very humid seasons. To prevent and control this disease, we can spray some carbendazim. In addition, we need to remove and burn diseased and dead leaves. In addition, ventilation and light transmission are also very important.

Pests

A common pest is the "soft-bodied snail", which will eat the leaves of this plant and cause them to grow crooked. To deal with this pest, you must first know that they like humid environments. Therefore, in the dark and humid evening, we can concentrate on hunting and killing, or spray some pesticides to kill them.
