Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of purple-calyx spurred flower

Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of purple-calyx spurred flower

1. Soil Problem

Reason: It is very afraid of waterlogging in the soil. If the flower soil is not permeable enough, water will easily accumulate and the plant will easily have yellow leaves.

Solution: The flower soil needs to be replaced in time. Try to choose sandy flower soil that is loose in texture and easy to drain. You can also add a small amount of sand to the flower soil to make it more loose.

2. Temperature discomfort

Reason: Its temperature requirement is still relatively low. However, if it is in a relatively harsh environment, it is still possible that the plant will not bloom or have yellow leaves.

Solution: If yellow leaves appear due to low temperature, move it to a warmer room for maintenance and wait until the plant recovers. Its general growth temperature is within the range of 20℃-30℃, not lower than 5℃ and not higher than 35℃.

3. Excessive supply of water and fertilizer

Reason: It does not require much water and does not require much fertilizer. However, overwatering can also cause yellow leaves on the plant. Excessive fertilization will often burn the root system and cause fertilizer damage such as yellowing and falling leaves.

Solution: If you water too much, you need to stop watering and place it in a ventilated place to allow the water to evaporate as quickly as possible. If yellow leaves appear due to excessive fertilization, stop fertilizing immediately, increase the amount of watering, let the fertilizer flow out from the drainage holes, or immediately turn the pot over, remove some of the old soil, wash the soil with water, replace it with some new culture soil, and then replant the plant in the pot.

4. Not enough light

Reason: It has a relatively strong ability to adapt to the environment and can grow under various lighting conditions. However, if the light does not meet the standard for a long time, it may cause the plant's leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: It is necessary to supplement light in time and place it in a place with sufficient light to prevent affecting the normal growth of the plant. In summer, you should still avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf burns.
