What to do if the leaves of Cordyceps turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of Cordyceps turn yellow

1. Supplementary lighting

Reason: It likes light. If it is placed in a dark place for a long time during maintenance, the leaves will easily turn yellow, and in severe cases they will dry up and fall off, affecting their growth.

Remedy: If it is a light problem, move it to a place with scattered light in time for supplementary light. However, if the light is strong in summer, you still have to avoid it, as strong light will burn the leaves. During later maintenance, be sure to place it in a place with scattered light. It will grow better with enough sunlight.

2. Water appropriately

Cause: Too much watering during maintenance and management, the soil is too moist, the roots cannot breathe, and the leaves will turn yellow. In severe cases, the roots may rot and cause the death of the plant.

Remedy: If you water too much, you need to loosen the soil more and move the plant to a well-ventilated place to allow the water to evaporate as quickly as possible. If the roots are severely rotten, remove the plant from the pot as soon as possible, trim the rotten roots, change the soil and replant.

3. Replace the potting soil

Reason: Cordyline likes to grow in a slightly acidic soil environment. If it is already alkaline or too saline, the root system cannot accept it and the leaves will turn yellow.

Remedy: If the soil is not suitable, change it as soon as possible. Replace the soil with slightly acidic soil containing humus and good drainage. When watering later, you can add a small amount of vinegar to maintain the acidity.
