Can hibiscus survive if its leaves are removed and planted? How to propagate it?

1. Hibiscus leaves cannot survive when planted

If you just take the leaves off the hibiscus and plant it, it will not survive. At least it needs branches and leaves. If there are only leaves, it will not take root and cannot survive. There are three common methods of its reproduction, namely cutting, sowing and division.

2. Hibiscus flower propagation method

1. Propagation by cuttings: When propagating by cuttings, young branches are usually used. Choose strong young branches and cut them into small sections of about 10 to 15 cm long. Leave three to five leaves on them and cut off the rest. After processing, directly insert it into the soft substrate, water it properly in the later stage, and provide it with a suitable environment so that it can grow into a new plant.

2. Seeding propagation: Collect seeds in autumn and place the mature seeds in a cool and ventilated place. Take them out and sow them in the spring of the following year. Germinate the seeds before sowing, and then plant them after the skin breaks. This will allow them to germinate faster and grow into seedlings.

3. Propagation by division: Propagation by division is more practical than the above two methods. It can be done before budding in early spring. Just cut the small stem buds with roots from the healthy mother plant and plant them separately. This way the survival rate of reproduction is high and the growth rate is fast. The new plants will soon bloom.
