What to do if the leaves of winter jasmine turn yellow

The reason why the leaves of jasmine turn yellow

Poor soil permeability

Forsythia is usually planted in the open field or maintained in potted plants outdoors, and can grow normally even in wind and rain. Especially in the rainy season, the soil drainage is poor after rain, the accumulated water in the pot is not removed in time, the root breathing is blocked, thus affecting the growth of the plant.

Watering too frequently

In fact, there is no fixed watering time for each type of flower. Flower lovers water them based on their feelings. If the air is dry or the temperature is too high, they water more. This practice is wrong. Forsythia is afraid of waterlogging. If you water too much, the plant's growth will slow down and the new branches and leaves will turn yellow.

Lack of nutrients

Forsythia needs timely top dressing for its growth, otherwise it will be difficult for nutrients to produce new branches, affecting the growth of the plant.

Mosaic virus

The main symptoms are smaller and deformed leaves with dark green spots or yellowing, and the plant does not bloom or even has smaller flowers.

How to solve the yellowing of jasmine leaves

Remove weeds in a timely manner, reduce sources of infection, and ensure that the environment around the forsythia is clean. Secondly, prevent and control aphids and reduce the transmission medium.

Water correctly, don't water based on your feeling. Check the dryness of the soil before watering, and water when it's dry and when it's wet. If you are not sure, expose the plant to sunlight immediately after watering, or use the immersion method to water, which can effectively control the amount of watering. (The immersion method is to place the flower pot in water, so that the water covers 2/3 of it, and the water naturally enters the soil.)

When choosing soil, choose loose soil with good drainage. When potting, spread a layer of coarse sand at the bottom of the pot as a waterproof layer. If you find that the soil has poor air permeability during maintenance, repot and change the soil in time.

During the period of winter jasmine, top dressing is required 2 to 3 times, mainly with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. When planting potted forsythia, apply sufficient base fertilizer, apply nitrogen fertilizer once before flowering, and prune the branches and leaves in time after flowering and apply top dressing once. During maintenance, apply fertilizer reasonably according to the growth conditions of the plants. Use thin liquid fertilizer each time you water to avoid fertilizer damage caused by excessive fertilization.
