How to grow Jade Dew in winter

1. Stay warm

Jade plant is not a very cold-resistant plant, so special attention should be paid to keeping it warm in winter. Generally speaking, it is best to move it indoors where the temperature is above 15°C after winter. If it is inconvenient to enter the room, you also need to cover it with a plastic bag to keep it warm. This will prevent it from freezing, which would impede its growth next year.

2. Control watering

During winter, its water requirements are lower. During maintenance, the frequency of watering needs to be reduced appropriately. This will prevent excess water from being retained in the soil and causing root rot. Generally speaking, you can change to watering once every 20 days or so. If the indoor temperature is high, you can increase the frequency of watering as appropriate. Wait until the second year, when the temperature rises, to resume normal watering frequency.

3. Adequate light

Although it is not a succulent variety that particularly likes sunlight, you can provide it with more light in winter. This has two advantages. First, it allows it to photosynthesize and synthesize more nutrients, which is beneficial for it to survive the winter. Second, it can increase the temperature around it to prevent it from getting cold. In winter, the light is not strong, so there is no need to worry about it being burned by strong light and affecting its growth next year.
