Milan flower cutting method

Milan flower cutting method

1. Cutting time

The time for Milan flower cuttings depends on the choice of branches. If you choose old branches from the previous year for cuttings, the time can be selected in spring from April to May. If you choose new branches of the current year, the time can be selected in June to August of the current year. The climate during these two time periods is mild and suitable, which is conducive to the survival and rooting of cuttings.

2. Cut branches

Although you can choose two types of branches for cuttings, it is best to choose new branches for cuttings, as the survival rate is higher. Choose a well-growing plant and cut off strong branches from it, leaving two or three leaves on the top of each branch and removing the leaves below. Apply a little wood ash on the cut and place it in a cool place to dry.

3. Prepare the soil

In order to promote the success of cuttings, the soil needs to be suitable. You can use a mixture of peat soil and river sand as the soil for cuttings, or you can choose other preparation methods. As long as the soil is breathable, loose, fertile, acidic and other characteristics, it must be disinfected after preparation.

4. Take cuttings

Cuttings are made into the plant. After cuttings, place the plant in a cool place for maintenance. Water it thoroughly, cover it with plastic film to keep it moist. Control the temperature at around 25 degrees Celsius, spray water appropriately to maintain humidity and promote rooting of branches.
