How to water Clivia in winter? Should it be watered thoroughly?

1. Winter watering method

The temperature will drop in winter, especially when it drops to 10℃, the plants will go dormant and the frequency of watering must be reduced. The winter climate in the south will be warmer, so you can add some water to it every 3-5 days. The climate in the north is relatively cold, so you can water the plants once a week or half a month. However, if you keep it in a heated room indoors, you can water it more frequently.

You also need to choose the right time for watering. The temperature is lower in the morning and evening, and watering at this time will easily stimulate its roots. Therefore, watering in winter should be done at noon when the temperature is higher. The water temperature should not be too cold and should be close to the maintenance room temperature.

2. Should watering be done thoroughly?

Whether in winter or in other seasons, watering should be thorough. Each time you water, you must water thoroughly and do not stop watering halfway. If you use incorrect watering methods for a long time, the plants will easily grow poorly. If you only water half of the plant, the deep interior will easily suffer from water shortage and die. If the plant is in the arrow-shooting stage, you should also be careful not to pour water on the flower arrows, as they may easily fail to evaporate and cause rot.

3. Notes

The water used for watering should be of good quality and do not use water containing chlorine. Therefore, after connecting the tap water, you need to leave it for two or three days before using it. In addition, it is necessary to temporarily stop watering when it rains, as its roots cannot be soaked in water.
