How to grow the money tree well?

The Money Plant, a succulent plant that looks similar to the jade plant, is known for its ease of propagation by cuttings and its growth rate. Although cuttings may look inconspicuous at first, they have great growth potential and can quickly develop into lush plants. After one or two years of care, these seedlings will grow into old stumps with upright postures. So how do you grow the money tree to make it grow well?

1. Lighting requirements

The money tree is a succulent plant that grows vigorously in spring and autumn. The suitable temperature is 15 to 25 degrees Celsius. It prefers warm, full sun and should be placed in full sun in the spring to promote healthy growth and vibrant leaf color. When maintaining indoors, avoid direct exposure to the sun and choose a windowsill or a sunny spot in the living room. When caring for it outdoors, you should choose a place with plenty of sunlight, and provide appropriate shade during the high temperatures in the south in summer.

2. Soil and repotting

Money tree prefers loose, well-drained and fertile soil. It is recommended to repot every 1 to 2 years to maintain soil fertility and prevent compaction. When repotting, you can use special soil for succulents or a mixture of peat soil, coarse sand and a small amount of decomposed manure. Spring is the best time to repot. After repotting, water thoroughly to help the plant take root.

3. Water management

As a succulent plant, the Money Tree does not like too much water, but during the peak growth period (spring and autumn), it needs to increase the amount of water appropriately to keep the soil semi-dry. Avoid stagnant water and half-water, and ensure that the roots can breathe. When the temperature is high in summer and the growth is slow in winter, watering should be reduced, but when the temperature is high and dry, you can spray water appropriately and pay attention to ventilation.

4. Fertilization strategy

During the peak growth period in spring and autumn, proper fertilization can help the money tree grow. A thin, balanced fertilizer , such as Huaduoduo No. 1 or a nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium triple fertilizer, can be applied every 15 to 20 days. When caring for the plants outdoors, apply decomposed cake fertilizer water every 10 to 15 days. Use controlled fertilizer during the growth period to meet the needs of different growth stages. Fertilization should be stopped during high temperatures in summer and cold winter.

In short, the money tree not only symbolizes wealth and good luck, but also has the function of purifying indoor air and absorbing toxic gases, making the living environment healthier.
