Tuberose , also known as night-blooming jasmine and moon fragrance, usually has flower buds that open one after another around 7 o'clock every night in summer. As soon as the tuberose buds open, they emit bursts of fragrance. Its fragrance is clear and not turbid, making people feel relaxed and happy. So when does tuberose bloom? How to care for it? Let’s take a look with the editor below. 1. When does tuberose bloom? The tuberose blooms around 7 o'clock in the evening, from July to November, and the flower color is white. Tuberose is a perennial herb of the Amaryllidaceae family. It has spike-shaped flowers at the end, with each spike bearing 12-32 flowers. The flowers are white and fragrant, and the fragrance becomes stronger at night, hence the name. The flowering period of tuberose cultivated in the open field is usually from July to early November, and the peak flowering period is from August to September. It is a summer cut flower variety. Tuberose is one of the most important cut flowers because of its strong fragrance, slender flower stems, soft lines, and easy planting and flowering period regulation. Tuberose only emits a rich fragrance at night, because tuberose is pollinated by moths that appear at night. The petals of tuberose are different from ordinary petals in structure. Once the air humidity is high, the pores on its petals will open wider and emit more fragrance. Although there is no sunlight at night, the air is much more humid than during the day, so the stomata will open wider and the fragrance released will be particularly strong. 2. How to care for tuberose? 1. Soil Tuberose prefers a loose and fertile soil environment, and it consumes more nutrients to bloom. If the tuberose is not maintained for a long time by changing the soil and applying fertilizer, and the nutritional area of the flowerpot is limited, it will lead to malnutrition, and eventually it will not bloom, bloom less, and have a weak fragrance. 2. Lighting The tuberose should be moved to a sunny location for maintenance, such as a south-facing balcony where it can receive about 5 hours of sunlight every day, or it can be placed directly in the courtyard for natural light. In addition, when tuberose is exposed to sufficient sunlight, the flowers it blooms will have a richer and more charming fragrance. 3. Water and fertilizer Apply nitrogen fertilizer once when the leaves grow to about 4cm and 8cm, apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers after the flower stalk emerges, and apply compound liquid fertilizer again after flowering to promote the growth of tubers. Water the plants and loosen the soil in time the next day after each fertilization to facilitate the absorption of fertilizer and water. During the vigorous growth period, water frequently, keep the soil moist, and apply liquid fertilizer 3-4 times. The above is an introduction to the flowering points of tuberose. When tuberose is cultivated in the open field in my country, due to the severe cold winters in most areas, it can only be cultivated by spring-planted bulbs. It sprouts and grows in spring, blooms in summer and autumn, and hibernates in winter.
