1. How to make your own dried reed flowers

Picking: Pick the mature reeds growing by the water. When picking, make sure the flower heads of the reeds are intact. Only when the flower heads are intact will the effect of making them into dried flowers be good. Generally, you can collect it between 9 and 11 in the morning. After collection, you need to process it immediately or store it in a cool place to keep it fresh.

Removing seeds: You can separate the seeds and flower heads by manually beating them, and then try to remove the dirt remaining on the flower heads.

Sterilization: Mix pesticide and clean water in a ratio of 1:300 to make a solution. Place the flower head in this liquid that can kill insect eggs for twenty to forty minutes, then remove it and drain it. Then place the flower head in clean water and stir it, filter out the remaining liquid, and then pick it up and drain it.

Drying: You can use natural air drying method. Tie it tightly with a string or ribbon to prevent some branches from falling off, and hang it upside down in a ventilated and dry place, away from direct sunlight. The hanging time depends on the weather conditions, and it usually takes more than ten days or even a month.

Pruning: After drying, you can trim the rhizomes of the reeds to make them basically neat and orderly, which will make them more ornamental. Then you can find a vase with a longer body, put the dried and trimmed reeds in it, and then find a place without direct sunlight to place it.
