How to plant roses and when to plant roses

1. How to plant

1. Select seeds: Choose plump, healthy and mature seeds. Do not use shriveled or damaged seeds. Then soak the seeds in sodium chloride solution for 3-5 minutes and dry them.

2. Seed germination: Soak the dried seeds in water at about 40 degrees for 4-6 hours. If the water gets cold, continue to add warm water to keep the water temperature around 40 degrees. Then place the seeds in moist sand and keep the sand moist. The sand should be moist enough to be able to be pinched into balls with your hands. The seeds will germinate in about a month.

3. Planting soil: Choose loose, breathable and good water-retaining soil. A mixture of peat moss, sphagnum moss and perlite can be used as planting soil. After the soil is prepared, it needs to be steam sterilized to kill the germs in the soil, and then the soil needs to be loosened more. Finally, you can add an appropriate amount of farmyard manure.

4. Planting: Plant the germinated seedlings into the soil at a depth of about 4-5 cm. After planting, water it thoroughly once and then place it in a sunny place for maintenance. After planting, keep the soil moist, but do not allow water to accumulate in the pot. Seedlings will generally emerge in about two weeks.

2. When to plant

Roses are usually planted in spring and autumn. Spring is the best time to plant roses. The plants will grow better and have a higher survival rate. They will bloom in May and June. When sowing in the fall, you need to prepare for wintering. And the temperature is low, so the seeds may not germinate until after winter.
