Why can't you use a large pot to grow flowers?

1. Not breathable

Except for large flowers like money trees and almonds that require large pots, small flowers generally cannot use large pots. Otherwise, too much soil in the pot will lead to poor air permeability, making it difficult for the flowers to breathe normally, thus hindering the growth of the plants. In severe cases, it can even lead to the death of the plants, that is, they are directly suffocated to death. Generally speaking, the larger the flower pot, the worse the air permeability, and the more difficult it is to achieve the ventilation effect.

2. Accumulate water

If you use a large pot for maintenance, if you don't control the watering properly, a large amount of water may accumulate in the pot, and it will not be easy to dry out. This will bring burden to the roots and will not be conducive to subsequent growth. Especially for some flowers that cannot tolerate water, it is best recommended to choose a flowerpot of appropriate size so that even if too much water is applied, it can evaporate and discharge as quickly as possible.

3. Inharmonious proportions

If it is a small flower, using a flowerpot that is too big may cause disharmony in proportions, the size of the plant and the flowerpot will not fit, and it will not look beautiful. It is recommended to choose a flower pot with a diameter of about two-thirds of the leaves, which is a more suitable size.
