How to grow cherry blossom grass

How to grow cherry blossom grass

1. Soil preparation

The requirements in this regard are not very strict. It can grow in clay loam or sandy soil. It needs to contain humus and prefers slightly acidic conditions. The pH value should be kept between 5.5-6.5. It can be mixed with leaf mold and sandy soil. A little base fertilizer can be added before use to ensure nutrition.

2. Proper lighting

It is best to grow in semi-shade, and can be exposed to scattered light appropriately. It should not be exposed to the scorching sun in summer. Strong light will burn the leaves of the plant, causing the flowers to turn yellow and wither, seriously affecting its ornamental value.

3. Appropriate amount of water

It is suitable for growth in a humid environment, so you can add water in an appropriate amount, but the roots themselves cannot withstand the accumulation of water, so it cannot be excessive. Generally, it is sufficient to keep it in a slightly dry and slightly moist state. Pay attention to water control during the germination period and do not make it too moist. The temperature is higher in summer and the evaporation is stronger, so you can add a little more.

4. Supplement nutrients

Because flowers need nutrients to bloom, the demand for nutrients is relatively large. Fertilizer should be applied every 10 days during the growing season, but the concentration should not be too high, otherwise it will burn the root system.

5. Optimum temperature

The daytime temperature should be kept at around 20℃, and at night it is best maintained at 5-10℃. It cannot withstand high temperatures and cannot exceed 30℃. It needs to be kept above 5℃ to spend the winter.
