Pruning potted flowers in autumn

Pruning potted flowers in autumn

Remove side shoots

In autumn, most flowers will usher in a new growth climax during this period. However, in order to make the flowers grow healthier and more vigorous, most of the side buds should be removed during this period to reduce nutrient consumption.

Correction of flower branches

The main purpose of correcting flower branches is to make the tree shape beautiful and achieve a balanced sensory enjoyment. The bent and deformed branches caused by lighting conditions or other reasons will be stretched so that the branches can grow in the existing direction in the next period of time.

Removing flower buds

Although summer is the time when flowers bloom in groups, many flowers still bloom after autumn. When there are too many flower buds, it will hinder the growth of flowers and greatly reduce the quality of their flowering. Therefore, in order to allow some flower buds to get sufficient nutrients, we must properly remove the buds.

Pruning branches

Pruning branches is also an important part of autumn flower pruning. The main targets of pruning are dead branches, diseased branches, weak branches, and overlapping branches. By pruning these branches, the light transmittance and ventilation of the plants can be increased, which is beneficial to prevent diseases and pests of flowers.

Topping

Some flowers bloom in winter, so it is necessary to pinch the tips of these flowers to control their height and increase the number of flowers that bloom.
