What to do if Clivia is pinched by an arrow

What to do if Clivia is pinched by an arrow

1. Increase fertilization

Reason: Too little nutrients can cause the arrow-pinching phenomenon, because it needs a lot of nutrients during the growth period of the arrow. If fertilizer is not supplemented in time, the arrow-pinching phenomenon will occur.

Solution: It is necessary to apply fertilizer in time during the period of arrow formation to supplement nutrients for better growth. However, it should be noted that the fertilizer should be diluted with water to avoid excessive concentration and burn the plant. In addition, we must insist on applying fertilizer frequently, and not too much each time, just a small amount each time.

2. Adjust the temperature

Reason: Usually the suitable temperature during the period of arrow drawing is around 20 degrees. If the temperature is too low, below 15 degrees, it will seriously affect the growth of the plant, making it unable to shoot arrows normally, resulting in arrow jamming.

Solution: When the arrow is stuck, it is necessary to place it in an environment with a temperature suitable for its growth in time. It is best to maintain it in an environment of 18 to 20 degrees. The darker the environment, the better, as this will be more conducive to its arrow production.

3. Tie the leaves

Reason: The more vigorously the leaves around grow, the more vigorous and stronger they are, the more difficult it is to pull out the arrow in the middle, thus causing the arrow to be pinched.

Solution: Usually we can use ropes or other things to fix the leaves on both sides or tie them up separately. This will make it easier to pull out the arrow, or you can cut open the leaves in the middle that hold the arrow to help pull it out.
