Cuttings never survive? That’s because you chose the wrong variety. These “4 kinds” can grow just by throwing them into the soil!

Cuttings are the most common and simplest way of propagation for many plants. However, many flower lovers have complained to Huahua that it is too difficult for cuttings to take root and they always fail to survive. In fact, this is because you have not chosen the right variety of cuttings. You should know that there are many plants and flowers that can grow just by throwing them into the soil, and there is no need to worry about whether they can survive. For example, these 4 types are very suitable for cuttings.

1. Pothos

The green ivy can be considered a common plant in households. It grows fast, and its branches can grow very long in a short time. We can use these grown branches to propagate a few new pots of green ivy. The method is simple and the effect is good!

Select several strong branches and prepare loose and nutritious soil as the cutting medium. We trim the bottom of the branch and dip it in a little rooting water, so that it will germinate and grow faster when planted in the soil. After the cuttings are completed, move it to a ventilated place and wait for it to take root. Alternatively, you can also place the branches directly into water and green potted plants will grow out in a short time.

2. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera can be used for ornamental purposes and as medicine. It can be said that having a pot of it at home is a truly versatile flower. Aloe vera grows very fast. There are always some small tender pieces emerging next to the large branches and leaves, and these are the raw materials we use for cuttings.

Although these small tender pieces of aloe vera have no roots, they can still survive easily when planted in the soil. We take out these tender leaves and plant them in soil with good drainage, keep the soil in the pot slightly moist, and you will see the growth of aloe leaves in about 7 days.

3. Chlorophytum

The spider plant has always been known for its tenacious vitality. Small buds always grow under its long leaves. If we plant these small buds in the soil, we can harvest many spider plant potted plants.

Trim the tender shoots of spider plant from the large potted plants and prepare loose and breathable soil as the cutting medium. You can soak the tender shoots of spider plant in rooting water in advance, so that the growth rate after cutting will be greatly improved. Chlorophytum grows very quickly and soon we can see the new Chlorophytum potted plants taking shape.

4. Amaryllis

Amaryllis is a bulb plant. It has bright flowers and is easy to grow. It is a very suitable ornamental flower to grow at home. The bulbs that we need to grow Amaryllis for cuttings are exactly what we need. This method is simple and the growth is faster.

Take the bulbs grown from Amaryllis from the large pot, and then plant them directly in fertile garden soil. Then water them thoroughly, and the Amaryllis potted plants will grow rapidly.

It is actually not difficult to take cuttings. The important thing is to choose the right variety. I wonder if you have ever taken cuttings of these 4 plants and flowers?
