When do loquat trees bloom?

1. Flowering time

Its flowering period is long, from October to January of the following year. Usually the fruits of the first flowers that bloom between October and November are larger and of better quality, but they are more susceptible to frost damage and frostbite in later years. The second flowers that bloom between December and January do not produce as many fruits as the first flowers, but they have a high fruit set rate and are very cold-resistant.

2. Management methods during flowering period

1. Watering: The plant consumes more water during flowering, and autumn is relatively dry with little rain. Water and spray the plant frequently to increase humidity. But please note that it is best to do it at noon on a sunny day, which can effectively improve the pollination rate and increase yield.

2. Fertilization: In addition to watering, fertilizer should be applied regularly during the flowering period to avoid excessive consumption of nutrients during flowering and causing nutritional imbalance. Fertilizer can be diluted urea, which should be applied every five days.

3. Combing the flowers: If you find that the flowers are blooming too densely or there are weak flower spikes during the flowering period, you should cut them off in time to reduce nutrient consumption, and the quality of the fruit will be better later. If the flowers are too dense, the fruit setting rate will be reduced.
