Fig tree cultivation method

Fig tree cultivation method

1. Lighting

It likes light and should be kept in a well-lit place so that it can receive enough sunlight. If there is not enough light, the plant will not be able to grow normally, which can easily lead to excessive growth and failure to bloom and bear fruit. The more sunlight it gets, the better it will grow.

2. Fertilization

It requires more nutrients for growth, so fertilizer should be applied frequently to supplement nutrients. Normally, fertilizer should be applied every ten days, using nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. If no fertilizer is applied for a long time, insufficient nutrients will affect growth and the plant will not be able to bloom and bear fruit.

3. Watering

Watering is also essential during the breeding period and the soil must be kept moist. Usually it is necessary to water once every two or three days. In summer, in addition to watering, you should also sprinkle more water to increase the humidity.

4. Temperature

It has poor cold resistance, and even in winter the temperature must be above 10 degrees, otherwise it will stop growing. Therefore, it is best to control the temperature in time when the temperature drops, and the minimum should be controlled above 5 degrees, so that it can survive the winter safely.

5. Notes

In addition to paying attention to methods during breeding, appropriate pruning is also required. It grows slowly and only needs to be pruned once a year. In spring, cut off the overgrown and sickly branches so that the nutrients can be more concentrated, which is beneficial to growth.
