How to cultivate seven-leaf lotus

How to cultivate seven-leaf lotus

1. Lighting

Although it is tolerant to partial shade, it also likes light. Under normal circumstances, it will grow more vigorously with sufficient light, so it should be placed in a sunny place for maintenance. But be careful not to expose it to strong sunlight in the summer, otherwise the leaves will be sunburned and turn yellow.

2. Watering

Watering should be appropriate during maintenance, and the specific amount and frequency of watering should depend on the season. Water more frequently in summer, once a day, to keep the soil moist. Water the plants about once every three or four days in spring and autumn, and make sure there is no stagnant water. There is no need to water the soil if it is not dry in winter to avoid frostbite.

3. Soil

When breeding, use soil with good drainage and permeability, which can be prepared with fine sand, peat soil and leaf mold. In addition, it is best to add an appropriate amount of basal fertilizer at the bottom when setting the value, which can supplement nutrients and promote growth.

4. Fertilization

Its growth cycle is in summer, so you can apply more fertilizer at this time, once a week, using a mixture of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, which can effectively promote growth and speed up the growth rate. However, if you are growing variegated varieties, you should reduce the amount of nitrogen fertilizer used, otherwise it will affect the overall ornamental effect.
