Hibiscus cultivation method (maintenance skills, cutting method and time)

Hibiscus cultivation method (maintenance skills, cutting method and time)

1. Maintenance skills

1. Soil: To grow hibiscus, you need to use loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil. Try not to use heavy, too compacted soil for planting. For home breeding, you can prepare the soil yourself by mixing garden soil, leaf mold, peat and an appropriate amount of perlite.

2. Light: It should be exposed to appropriate sunlight every day. It is best to keep it in a sunny place at home. Because it likes the sun, it should not be allowed to grow in a dark place.

3. Temperature: Try to provide it with a growing environment of 20~27℃. The temperature will drop rapidly in winter, so it should be moved indoors in time. If you want it to survive the winter safely, the temperature must not be lower than 5℃. When the climate is colder, you can cover it with a layer of plastic film to achieve the effect of insulation.

2. Cutting method

1. Time: Hibiscus can be propagated by cuttings between May and October. If you want to propagate in winter, you must do it indoors in a high temperature. If you are a novice doing cuttings, you can do it during the rainy season, as the survival rate is higher at this time.

2. Cuttings: Cut a 10 cm long semi-lignified branch, use scissors to cut off the leaves at the bottom, and do not remove the leaves on the top. The branch cuts were treated with indolebutyric acid.

3. Cutting: Insert the processed branches into the sand bed, fix the branches, and provide it with a rooting environment of 18~21℃. New roots will grow in less than a month.
