Thyme cultivation methods and precautions

Thyme cultivation methods and precautions

Thyme is a very easy plant to grow. The plant prefers a warm growing environment. It can be placed on a sunny balcony for maintenance. The plant has strong adaptability to the environment and is not difficult to cultivate.

How to grow thyme

1. Soil

Thyme likes loose, fertile, and well-breathable soil. If you want to take care of it on a daily basis, you can prepare it yourself with lime, humus, perlite, etc.

2. Lighting

Thyme requires sufficient light to grow, and the daily light time should not be less than 6 hours. However, in the summer, it should be avoided from direct sunlight and placed in a shaded and ventilated location for maintenance.

3. Temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for thyme is 20-25℃. It is best to maintain a constant temperature during this period. The temperature in summer should not exceed 30℃, and the temperature in winter should not be lower than 5℃.

4. Watering

Thyme needs to be watered in moderation during the cultivation period. Sufficient water must be ensured during the growth period, but water accumulation should not be allowed in the soil. The amount of watering should be reduced appropriately in winter.

Thyme maintenance precautions

The maintenance method of thyme is relatively simple, but do not keep it in a high temperature and high humidity environment for a long time. At the same time, avoid direct sunlight on the plant. You can grow it in a shaded place and pay attention to the ventilation of the environment.
