Cherry trees grow on sunny hillsides or ditches at an altitude of 300-800 meters. Its taproot is not well developed and its lateral roots are shallowly distributed. It is suitable for growing in sandy loam with loose soil and deep soil layer.

Cherries grow on trees, which are small deciduous trees. They bloom around March in spring, and their fruits mature around May or June. They can grow very tall, up to about 8 meters.
