How to grow money tree succulent

The succulent money tree belongs to the shrub-like succulent plant of the Cactaceae family. It has emerald green leaves with protrusions and yellow thorns on the surface. It looks like a mini cactus. When it blooms in the pot, it looks like a cluster of corals, so it is also called coral reef. The money tree is easy to grow and reproduce. Its daily care can refer to similar succulent plants in the Cactaceae family.

Money tree succulent cultivation

1. Soil: Money tree succulent likes loose, breathable and well-drained sandy loam. It can be mainly composed of garden soil and humus soil, and about 30% river sand can be added to the soil. It can also be mainly composed of peat, and the common soil preparation method for succulents with appropriate amounts of perlite, vermiculite, medical stone and other granular matrix can be used for soil preparation.

2. Light: The money tree succulent plant likes an environment with plenty of sunlight. Usually, it can be given sufficient light during the vigorous growing season in spring and autumn, or placed on a bright and well-ventilated windowsill or balcony for maintenance. In summer, it can be mainly maintained in diffuse light.

3. Water: Money tree succulent has a certain degree of drought resistance, but should avoid waterlogging. Daily care and watering can be carried out according to the dryness and wetness of the potting soil. If dust accumulates on the leaves or the air is dry, spray it appropriately. Avoid excessive watering at other times to prevent root rot and stem rot.

4. Fertilization: The soil in the pot of the money tree can be changed every 1-2 years. When changing the pot, add a small amount of slow-release fertilizer as base fertilizer. For daily care, during the vigorous growth period in spring and autumn, add some multi-element water-soluble fertilizer when watering. However, attention should be paid to applying thin fertilizers frequently to avoid increasing the burden on the root system and having the opposite effect.

Money tree maintenance precautions

The money tree is a succulent plant that cannot tolerate waterlogging, so it is best to keep the soil slightly moist or slightly dry. In the summer when the temperature is high, you can spray water in moderation to keep it moist. In the winter when the temperature is low, you should control watering. A dry soil will help it survive the winter better.
