Moreover, all indicators of Jiyu 757, such as crude protein, crude starch, acid detergent fiber and neutral detergent fiber, meet the standards, and the content reaches the national first-class silage corn standard.

Introduction of Jiyu 757

High-starch corn varieties refer to corn varieties with a crude starch content of ≥75.0%, while ordinary corn varieties can meet the standard with a crude starch content of ≥69.0%. The crude starch content of Jiyu 757 variety is as high as 76.28%, which is one of the varieties with higher crude starch content among the national-approved varieties in the Huanghuaihai region.

The average starch content of the 10 main corn varieties in Hebei Province is 73.26%. The starch content of Jiyu 757 is 3.02 percentage points higher than that of the current main varieties.

Relevant experts introduced that the launch of the new variety Jiyu 757 has provided favorable conditions for extending the corn industry chain in Hebei Province and increasing farmers' income.

The outstanding advantages of Jiyu 757 are high starch, dual-purpose for grain and feed, large ears and high yield, resistance to lodging, and wide adaptability. In addition, this variety participated in the regional test of the summer corn group in Huanghuaihai from 2017 to 2018.

The average yield per mu in the two years was 638.0 kg , an increase of 4.2% over the control Zhengdan 958. The average yield per mu in 2019 was 680.7 kg , an increase of 3.45% over the control Zhengdan 958.

This variety is suitable for planting in the summer corn area of ​​the Huanghuaihai region and the areas to the south, as well as some plains in Shaanxi Province and Shanxi Province, as well as the areas north of the Huaihe River in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, and Xiangyang area in Hubei Province.
