What is dry branch snow willow

Snow willow is also called "grain tree and pearl flower". Its flower language is "special", which means good omen, uniqueness, and harvest.

The natural flowering period of snow willow is in spring, but if its branches are cut off in winter, it is the dry snow willow we buy now. If it is inserted into water and placed in a warm place, it can "come back to life in spring" and sprout and bloom.

Can I still grow the snow willow after it has faded?

Dry branch snow willow is also called bursting snow flower, which is this year's "Internet celebrity style" and is very popular in this season. Snow willow has a long flowering period, generally 20 to 25 days. Soak it in clean water for 1 to 2 hours, and then put it in a bottle with deep water.

Generally, the water depth of the vase is about 20 cm. Sufficient sunlight will accelerate the flowering process, and it will generally start to bloom in 13-18 days . Therefore, if you plant now, you will have flowers to enjoy during the Chinese New Year.

You can continue to cultivate the snow willow potted plants after the flowers fade . After the flowers wither, you can continue to cultivate the leaves in water. Because the branches of the snow willow are soft and slender, even if they are covered with tender green leaves, they still have a unique charm.

However, the dry branch snow willow is basically discarded after it blooms . Because compared with the flowering dry branch snow willow, it has no flowers and ornamental value, and it cannot bloom again in the second year , so it is basically thrown away after it blooms.

How to take care of the snow willow you bought home

① Unpacking

First of all, after we receive the dried branches of snow willow, we open the package first. Because it is a long-distance transportation, it is inevitable that some branches will be broken or snapped during the express delivery process, but it will not affect the survival and flowering!

②Wake up the flowers

Next, we use scissors to cut the bottom of each branch at a 45-degree angle to increase the contact area with water and make it easier for the branches to absorb water. After trimming the snow willow branches, put all the branches into clean water and soak them for 2-3 hours, similar to the "waking up" of fresh cut flowers.

③Prepare the vase

During the "waking up the flowers" period, we find a vase. Because the length of our snow willow branches is between 0.8 and 1 meter, which is relatively long, we recommend that you find a taller vase, otherwise it will easily fall over.

④Insert into the bottle

After "waking up the flowers", we insert the dry branches of snow willow into a tall vase, and then pour clean water into the vase. Note that the water level cannot be lower than 20cm.

⑤Place it at home

Place the hydroponic snow willow in a place you like, such as a balcony, windowsill, living room, bedroom, etc. It is best to have scattered light.

⑥Flowers bloom gradually after maintenance

After about 2-7 days, small buds will emerge. Note that during the hydroponic process, change the water of the dry branch snow willow every 3-5 days to keep the water clean. After another 2-3 weeks, it will bloom one after another.

⑦Maintenance precautions

After the dry branch snow willow blooms, place it in a semi-shaded place, away from direct sunlight. It can continue to bloom for about 20 days. If the temperature at home is low, the blooming time will be longer.
