The cutting method of Euphorbia pulcherrima The cutting planting method and time of Euphorbia pulcherrima

The rooting survival rate of Euphorbia cerasifera cuttings is relatively high. Select healthy and full modified stems, cut them with a sterilized sharp knife, and place them in a ventilated place to dry. The cutting medium can be clean plain sand. Dip the cuttings in plant ash and insert them into the medium. It will take root after about 40-50 days.

Kirin Palm cutting time

The time for cuttings of Euphorbia cerasifera should be chosen from May to June each year . This is the peak growth season, the branches are more active, and the temperature is mostly around 20℃, so the rooting survival rate is higher.

Steps for propagating Euphorbia pulcherrima by cuttings

1. Select cuttings

Choose cuttings from the mother plant of Euphorbia pulcherrima, and choose healthy and full abnormal stems . Cut them off with a sterilized sharp knife, and place the abnormal stems in a ventilated place to dry until the wound is dry and slightly shrunken.

2. Cutting medium

Cuttings require a breathable, loose, well-drained substrate . You can choose clean plain sand and sterilize it in advance.

3. Take cuttings

Pour a small amount of water into the plain sand to keep the substrate slightly moist. Dip the cuttings in plant ash and insert them into the substrate to a depth of about 3-4 cm. After inserting, press them lightly with your hands.

4. Planting in pots

Prepare a flowerpot of appropriate size, spread slag on the bottom of the flowerpot, fill it with a mixture of leaf mold, coal slag and garden soil, then plant the rooted Euphorbia tridentata in it and pay attention to maintenance.

Things to note after cutting of Kirin palm

Euphorbia pulcherrima should not be watered immediately after cutting, otherwise it will easily cause the stem to rot. It is best to maintain a growth temperature of 20℃-25℃ , and it will take root in about 40-50 days.
